The above results give some indication of the crowded Athletic season which packs so much into such a short space of time. We had fixtures this year with matches against Harrow Weald and Downer Grammar schools. Unfortunately fixtures against Cardinal Vaughan, London Oratory and the Franciscan College could not be held, but we look forward to renewing them in the coming year.

In the Middlesex Grammar Schools N.W. meeting, the school finished 6th out of nine schools competing, with 83 points. This was an improvement on last year when we finished 9th with 76½ pts. It was the first time we had entered a complete team in this competition and we obtained quite good results on the whole. From this meeting Silver, Madden, Clubbe, O'Keeffe and Nawrocki went forward to the Grammar Schools final meeting at Copthall Stadium. Madden did extremely well to win the Senior Long Jump with a jump of 21 ft. 1 in. and thus added this title to the Intermediate one obtained last year. Nawrocki jumped 17 ft. 7¼ ins. to finish 3rd in the Junior Long Jump. The standard of Athletics in the school is most definitely improving and we look forward to the next season with high hopes, enthusiasm and ambition. We have many useful athletes in the school and we expect to see them making their mark very soon.
