Cricket Report 1966/67

The School had its most successful season so far. Nearly half the games played met with victory and only 14 games were lost out of 60 games played. There were many good performances, but apart from the first XI the bowling was rather stronger than the batting.

Next season batsmen will have to spend many hours at the nets improving their basic techniques. Once again the success of the season has depended not only on the cricket ability of the players - the tremendous assistance given by members of Staff and by Parents in umpiring, transport and scoring, and care of playing gear by first formers, have played no unimportant part. Without such help we could not have played as frequently as we did.

This season three of our boys have gained representative honours. Arthur Ferry played for Harrow and Brent Colts; Martin Flint for the Middlesex under 15 Colts and David Dury for Middlesex Grammar Schools and the Young Amateurs of Middlesex. Dury also had the honour of playing at Lords, and of being awarded a Young Amateur's Cap, and of becoming the second winner of the single wicket School Cup by beating last year's winner - Paul Buckle.
